FURNISHED. Perched atop a scenic mountain within the exclusive, gate-guarded enclave of Tuxedo Park, the "Loomis Lab" is far more than a residence—it is a landmark of global significance. Originally built in 1901 for legendary philanthropist and Yaddo founder Spencer Trask, this magnificent three-story stone and timbered mansion eventually became the "Secret Palace of Science." As chronicled in Jennet Conant’s acclaimed book and the subsequent PBS film, the ground-breaking research conducted within these walls literally changed the course of WWII. Apartment 6 offers a rare opportunity to live within this storied history. Recently restored to its full glory and offered unfurnished or furnished, the residence seamlessly blends its turn-of-the-century architectural soul with modern comforts, including high ceilings and large windows that frame views of the surrounding mountains. The spacious layout features two to three bedrooms with two full bathrooms, a half bathroom, an windowed kitchen, and an amazing dining room with original details designed for sophisticated entertaining. Every corner of this home whispers of a golden age, from the heavy timbering to the meticulous stonework that defines the Tuxedo Park aesthetic. Immediate occupancy.
